About me
Hello friend, my name is Joe and like many humans I enjoy creating things that inspire and heal people.
Trained in Vinyasa and Restorative Yoga, as well as sound therapy, with a strong emphasis on using these practises to heal and find happiness.
Joe is most drawn to Bhakti (devotional) yogic practices and incorporates music as well as chanting into his personal practice and classes. He also offers retreats around Scotland and Europe with a variety of collaborators that provide a chance to disconnect from the fast pace of the world, find healing, and develop a deep connection to yourself. Joe has played guitar and piano for over 15 years and his path in yoga incorporates Nada (sound) mediation. Music, like food, can unite us and Joe uses his talents with sound to help people reach freedom through singing and dance.
A bit about personal healing journey? Not much just a line or two somewhere.
Joe is a passionate writer who believes the written word has the potential to change our reality if used skilfully. He has a PhD in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh and has a book based on his research on American gun culture through Routledge called Gun Rights Activism and the US Culture War that will be released in 2024. He is currently working on a project at the University of Edinburgh looking at mental health and suicide in Scotland using ethnographic, interview, and arts-based methods. His experience researching people who have been affected by suicide informs his 1:1 therapy sessions.
